Seen/Unseen is a dual exhibition of work by Tom Day and Kathryn Mecca, two artists who are capturing the interconnectedness of humanity in their work. Exploring the nuances of portraiture, each provides a fresh look at what it means to be seen and still unseen.
About the Artists:
Tom Day is an Indianapolis based portrait artist that works traditionally, digitally, and in mixed media trying to bridge the gap between people and their culture.
Kathryn Mecca is a Jersey City and Indianapolis based mixed media artist whose portraits deliberately simplify the subject, omitting the wealth of information supplied by the face, while flattening and stylizing what is presented. The result is an abstraction that seeks to convey the essence of a subject.
